ABSTRACT
The paper presents problems connected with the operation of marine two-stroke engines on low-sulphurfuel oils after the introduction of regulations limiting the sulphur content in fuel oil, consequences resulting from the use of such fuel oils, and countermeasures that shipowners can take to prevent adverse effects. Different possible configurations offuel oil and cylinder oil systems in a plant are presented here, too.
