ABSTRACT
The paper presents an analysis of the engine technical condition of vehicles subjected to intermittent vehicle inspections at inspection stations. The investigations were realized on the equipment compliant with the relevant legal regulations. The obtained results allowed statistical conclusions related to the emission level in individual age groups of gasoline and diesel engines. None of the diesel engines exceeded the exhaust opacity limits specified in the legislation. In gasoline engines the lowest concentrations were observed in the group of vehicles below 7 years of operation. From the total number of testedgasoline vehicles 7 exceeded the admissible limits (they were assignedfor retesting).
